Located adjacent to Over the Rhine, most downtowners view this as part of OTR but its actually its own community . Stunning city and river views are some of my favorite as you overlook historic OTR to the Central Business District with its high rises in the back. Mt. Auburn is Cincinnati’s first hilltop neighborhood, and it was originally home to wealthy Cincinnatians. Liberty Hill is the hillside neighborhood in Mt.Auburn that was first to go through renovations 20 years ago. It is a stable area with cool views and cool architecture.
Notable houses of Federal, Greek Revival, Italian Villa, Romanesque Revival, and Georgian Revival styles line the historically significant streets of Auburn, Dorchester and Taft. The houses date from 1819 to the turn of the century and are associated with the prominent Cincinnatians who built them. Arguably one of the most noteworthy of the Mt. Auburn houses is the William Howard Taft House, a National Historic Landmark and Cincinnati’s only National Park site.
I like this area for its cool housing stock with fantastic views, neighborhood park and an easy stroll to OTR. Mostly single family homes this cool area is often overlooked by inexperienced agents. Contact me for an update on homes for sale in this part of Downtown Cincinnati.
